These innovative products allow a low cost point-to-point link for analogue and digital information. A suite of software drivers for use with LabView, or other control software packages are also available, allowing users to drive and read back information with almost any type of transducer. This includes simple analogue voltage and stepper motor drive. As the remote circuitry is linked with optical fibre, distances of up to 3km can easily be covered into remote environments.

Group 3 Technology also have a leading range of Tesla meters offering resolution of up to 1 in 600,000 and field strengths in excess of 3 Tesla. Using Group 3’s temperature compensation technology accuracy of +/- 0.01% is achieved with temperature co-efficient as low as +/-5ppm/degC. Group 3’s Hall Probes can be combined with the control products to provide closed loop control of electro magnets without the need for additional control equipment.

Test & Instrumentation Applications

The point2point and Sentinel Intelligent FOL ranges provide a means of conveying RF signals in the presence of intense electrical fields. These products, in conjunction with our RF sensors/probes, serve the needs of the EMC, EMP, lightning test and Tempest communities.

point2point is the ideal solution for a wide variety of data acquisition applications. It also meets the security requirements for critical TEMPEST applications. The system offers a data link which is as easy to use as an electrical cable, but with the inherent advantages of optical fibre i.e. low loss; immunity to interference; non-conductivity; low mass and small size. point2point products offer bandwidths from high accuracy DC to more than 3GHz.

The Sentinel II Intelligent Fibre Optic Link product range allows the user to remotely select inputs, link gain, pre-amplifier, calibrate signal etc. It offers additional shielding for higher field operation. Bandwidths of up to 1GHz are available.
